Is this a bad time to visit Edinburgh?

We’ve found some amazingly priced flights and hotel for Edinburgh for 3 nights at the end of August.

Can any locals tell me whether pubs and restaurants are open? Tourist attractions? If not, are they planning to open by then?

Trying to decide whether to book or not. Really not sure whether it will be a waste of money with most places closed or highly restricted

Thanks

It really depends the things you like to do, I think most of the tourist things are open with prebooking and limited capacity.

I actually know someone who went to the zoo and said it was way better because no crowding to see the animals!

I think visiting Edinburgh to support the tourist industry and local restaurants is a great thing and I’m sure they will be grateful.

We live here, everything feels very calm and most attractions are open or opening soon with social distancing, masks required for busses etc. Good taxi services and plenty pubs and eateries open, a much better time to see Edinburgh than in the super busy festival
