Went to visit an old friend in Birmingham yesterday. I was amused to note that although it can take the council over 6 months to repair a pothole, and over a year to get around to fixing kerbstones and pavements, they've managed to completely tarmac all the on-street parking in Harborne in a week. Planning and all.
As ever, it's amazing what can be done when there's a will.
My lifelong habit of ascribing things that aren't done (e.g homelessness) because nobody gives a shit seems to as correct as ever.
