Anyone experienced with testicle torsion?

Poor DS9 was in lots of pain this morning, a chat with the GP, and off to A and E with his Dad. He's on the pediatric ward now and they're trying to manipulate it (agony apparently) back into place but surgery is on the cards.

Anyone had experience of this, he's not injured himself and was his usual bouncy self yesterday, he complained of hip pain last night and had a warm bath and paracetamol but was in lots of pain/ swollen this morning.

I have from a surgical perspective, have they confirmed it's a torsion then? There's a few other things it could be that often present like a torsion.

I've never heard of them trying to twist them back, I must admit.

If it were my son, I might consider asking them not to.
I have a 9 year old as well.

Your poor son ☹️

I think they have, his Dad is with him, they've done an ultrasound and said surgery was likely but there's a chance it might untwist with manual detorsion. Yowsers.

My son had it when he was 5, so over 10 years ago. He didnt complain of pain per se but it was all purple and swollen so I took him straight to a&e.. he had surgery but they didnt try any kind of manipulation. Had no problems since. Seems bizarre that they are slow in having surgery.
