Urban foxes

Two outside our house, barking continuously (is that what it's called for foxes?) for more than two hours in the early hours this morning. At one point I did actually go out and chase them off but they were back within a few minutes.

Are they likely to be back tonight and is there anything at all I can do?

Foxes do like their middle of the night parties. Ruddy noisy things. But I quite like them. Well except when they are being 'romantic' and you lie in bed doing the thinking game "foxes at it or person being murdered".
You learn to live with it. I prefer their shrieking more than the vroom vroom vroom motorbike people or the I think I will have a loud phonecall in the middle of the night in the middle of the street people or the I know it's 3 am so I will put my music on people.
Urban living. Sigh.

Foxes are noisy, but I do like them.

Earplugs maybe?
