My teen dds want to go but I'm nervous.

If you've been recently, how did you find it? Are they limiting numbers?

Yes they limit numbers and make you use hand sanitiser before entering. If you go first thing in the morning its a lot more quieter

Mummysgonetobed · 22/07/2020 17:52

I went this week. Was actually impressed. Limited numbers, lots of sanitising stations which were manned and staff were asking customers to use them.
Staff were sanitising baskets before giving them out. Queues were being managed.
No one way system or anything but seemed to be more space than normal between clothes.

treeeeemendous · 22/07/2020 17:53

It was fine. Queue to get in and you have to sanitise hands on entry. No changing rooms.

however the clothes were rubbish.

bendmeoverbackwards · 22/07/2020 17:57

Thank you

Had to laugh at first thing in the morning with my teens Grin If they're up for lunch we're doing well!

Think I'll brave it. Not bothered by lack of fitting rooms, they like to try on at home anyway.

Yes twice first time it was early so fine on Friday it was a bit busier so they had us queue, Dd2 got some t shirts and jeggings I got some new pjs.

idril · 22/07/2020 18:06

Yes, we went and got there at 10am when it opened.

It was really quiet and felt totally safe even though I'm a bit of a worrier.

CustardyCreams · 22/07/2020 18:09

I went today to get a belt for my waif of a DD.
It was very quiet so they were not limiting numbers. Changing rooms closed. Hand sanitiser and someone on the door. Seemed fine to me. Happy shopping!

They are a bit pants, aren’t they. I was really disappointed with the kids clothes. They don’t seem to getting much new stuff in, unless it’s just going really quickly and I haven’t seen it?
notacooldad · 22/07/2020 18:10

Went to one last Wednesday morning.
It was no different than before lockdown.
Hand sanitizer wasn't enforced
It was very quiet.

GreyGardens88 · 22/07/2020 18:11

Do they still take cash payments?

bendmeoverbackwards · 22/07/2020 18:15

Dd wants to get some Stranger Things clothes, I hope they have them.

Probably depends on where you are and the time of day. I went this morning at about 9.30am and it was fine as not many people in the shopping centre. I did ask if its like this usually and they said weekends are non stop from opening and weekdays tend to pick up around lunchtime.

Pop a mask in their bag with some handgel if nervous. And maybe get them to pay by card if they need to buy anything.

Hope that helps :)

bendmeoverbackwards · 22/07/2020 18:19

Thank you, we're planning on going tomorrow afternoon. Have good supplies of masks and hand gel.

We went last week, teen Dd needed some more leggings, nice and quiet, everyone spaced well and pleasant, lemon scented hand sanitizer. Best visit to Primark I've ever had actually.

worldweary45 · 22/07/2020 18:23

My local one was slightly strange -queue to get in, then if you wanted to go to the next floor you had to queue inside the shop to go up the escalator with a member of staff controlling who was going up

Didn't seem to be anyone stopping people coming down though?

Slightly bemused as it got a bit busy around the escalators but other than that it was pretty peaceful

bookmum08 · 22/07/2020 18:24

The problem with no changing rooms means I have to go back on Saturday to refund about £40 worth of stuff. I bought the same size I normally buy but for some reason it is all stupidly too long (trousers - well 'loungewear'). Annoying.

ItchyScratch · 22/07/2020 18:27

I’ve actually been 3 times in the last month with my tween daughter ALSO to get star her things items!
Nothing to worry about, all planned and organised well.

MonaMinute · 22/07/2020 18:36

It seemed pretty well organised to me. Very small queue, hand sanitiser on entry and also available on the way out of the store.

H1978 · 22/07/2020 18:51

I’ve been to 3 different ones on the past two weeks and the one nearest to me was the best in terms of prevention of spreading the virus. Only 140 people allowed at one time over two floors, the entrance from the shopping centre was closed off, sanistiser on entry instore (although I’d suggest using your own, theirs smells awful), sanitise before you to to the till, counters wiped clean and card machines, before you can put your clothes on the desk, then wipes clean after you leave.

I’d say it’s fine, all the shops have been very quiet due to number restrictions but there’s a definite shortage of stock due to less floor space.

CasuallyFeminine · 22/07/2020 19:01

They are limiting numbers though depending on what time you go, you might not have to queue. There was a very short queue to pay which is unusual for my local Primark. It was much less stressful shopping there than pre-Covid actually.

PaperMonster · 22/07/2020 19:11

I went last Friday afternoon and it was really quiet. Wasn’t offered hand gel though. Need to go back to return clothes at some point but will be going to a different one. Me and my daughter were both wearing masks and were just waved through.

SummerPeony · 22/07/2020 19:12

Primark has been one of the places I’ve felt safest, numbers limited, hand gel as you enter and a lady handing you a basket that has been wiped. I’ve also seen a lady holding wipes on the escalator hand rail. They seem to be really on top of it!

BigRedBoat · 22/07/2020 19:49

I thought it was nicer than primark usually is with less people and a shorter queue to pay. It also seemed a bit tidier than usual.

Mrsjayy · 22/07/2020 20:52

Yeah it was ok we have to wear masks here so it was a bit hot but I didn't feel stressed and it wasn't mad like primark can get.

Dowser · 22/07/2020 20:56

Went to york on Friday
Went straight in
Getting towards end of the day
No problem
And the black jacket that goes into its own bag was only £11 and not £15 at till
Win win
