Kitchen floor tiles

Hi sorry not exactly the most exciting thread but I would be very grateful for any help.
I'm changing my kitchen floor and I have no experience with tiles/tiling.
What do you think is a reasonable price per square metre to spend on floor tiles?
I've found a tiler I'm happy with and a reasonable quote (I think) he told me that if I find a tile I like to send him a photo he will probably be able to get it cheaper... he gave me an example that a friend of his found some tiles the week before for £75 a metre and he got them for £35...
He told me I should pay around £30- £35 per metre for decent floor tiles... is that about right? It would cost £660 just for the tiles at £30 which is a lot.
I've found a sample I like from an online tile place for £18.99 are they going to be crap?
If you have a tiled floor what did you pay?
