Does anyone use Smol?

I'm very tempted by the idea of getting boring things like washing stuff by post but was wondering if they washed well and if people found them efficient at sending them out as don't really want to be chasing it up either.

Its a great idea. I do all my shopping on foot so anything I don't have to carry is fine by me :)

Yes, I’ve been getting the washing tabs and dishwasher ones for over a year now and I really like them. They wash well and smell lovely, and I’ve had no problems with them arriving on time. You can easily adjust your order on the website as well, if you start to run out or want to slow down the delivery.

milienhaus · 21/07/2020 12:09

We have them, no issues with quality or posting.

MiniMonkey72 · 21/07/2020 12:10

I have used Smol for over a year. Never had a delay with shipping even at the height of Covid. We really like them but I would recommend using fabric conditioner as I find the scent a little weak. They do a free trial so you can try before you buy :-)

dementedma · 21/07/2020 12:10

Love it. smells gorgeous too

Cupasoup76 · 21/07/2020 12:20

Have to agree, it's great. I've been getting both the washing & dishwasher tabs for a long time now & they've just released a fabric softener too. I haven't used yet as I'm still finishing off my old one but it's got good reviews.

Mummatron3000 · 21/07/2020 12:24

I’m another satisfied customer. They’ve recently changed to plastic-free packaging too, which is great, although a wee bit fiddly to work out how to open the cardboard packaging at 1st. They email about a week before the next delivery is due & you can easily choose to delay it or get it sooner.

Rebelwithallthecause · 21/07/2020 12:24

I did but the dishwasher tabs didn’t work well for us

We are hard water area which might be the reason

AngusThermopyle · 21/07/2020 12:26

I use the washing tabs, lovely fresh smell.
I heard they do a conditioner but haven't checked yet.
I tried the dishwasher tabs but thought they were terrible. Things kept having bits left on them unfortunately.

JorisBonson · 21/07/2020 12:28

Yes, both the non bio and dishwasher tabs, have used them since they launched. They're fab and never have to worry about running out.

MollyAtTheFolly · 21/07/2020 12:30

Have used them for a couple of years now and have had no problems. Easy to postpone deliveries and so on. I really enjoy not thinking about the choice at the supermarket!

Might try the dishwasher ones - that's another supermarket decision making process I hate...

spiderlight · 21/07/2020 12:41

Yes - been using them for a couple of years now and absolutely love them. I didn't know they did a fabric conditioner though! Just added that to my plan :)

Gilead · 21/07/2020 12:44

Been using the non bio for over a year. Love them!

Correlation · 21/07/2020 12:44

Yes, non bio. Love them, they smell nice and wash well.

listsandbudgets · 21/07/2020 12:45

Thank you, that sounds positive, off to give them a try.

Used smol up until a few months ago when I switched to Splosh, who also have a subscription service for laundry and other cleaning stuff

No real issues with smol, other than I didn't like the plastic packaging it was sent in as trying to reduce plastic consumption.

jingscrivvens · 21/07/2020 12:58

We've been using the smol bio laundry for a few months now and I really like them! I had a bit of a problem with the first cardboard box we got but only because DS got to it first and ripped it open. I put them in an old dishwasher tabs bag I had and then DP put them in the dishwasher! It shows how often he uses the washing machine...

I'm thinking about getting fabric conditioner ones too, are they any good?

spiderlight · 21/07/2020 13:01

www.splosh.com are good as well - I use their refillable washing up liquid. I wasn't keen on the smell of their laundry powder but it came in a lovely tin that's the perfect size to store Smol capsules in!

Toddlerteaplease · 21/07/2020 13:07

Yes, I love it. I've also just got some of their new fabric conditioner. Not sure it's worth £10
For two bottles. But it's meant to last till next March, so we'll see. The capsules smell lovely.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/07/2020 13:09

I've also got splosh and I like that too.

ImperfectTents · 21/07/2020 16:13

I use their dishwasher tablets but stopped the laundry tablets as I reckoned a big box of Persil was a lot cheaper and used a lot less packaging

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 21/07/2020 16:56

Ooh @Toddlerteaplease can you describe what the fabric softener smells like please? I’ve been thinking of trying it but I’m a funny bugger with scents and I don’t want to spend a tenner and hate it.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/07/2020 18:01

No idea, it only arrived yesterday and I haven't opened it!

ForeverRedSkinhead · 21/07/2020 18:05

I use splosh like pps. We use the value non bio liquid. It washes well , I use it for cloth nappies. I considered smol but it works out much more expensive.

isabellerossignol · 21/07/2020 18:09

I've been using Smol biological for a couple of years and really like it. I used the dishwasher tablets for a couple of months but gave up on them as I didn't find them to be up to the same quality.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/07/2020 20:02

Not sure about the smell. It's quite 'heavy' not unpleasant but not as nice as the capsules
