Solo trip- where would you go?

Hi everyone!
I am hoping to take myself on holiday somewhere next year. I'll be on my own, and it'll be a part of 'don't wait for love, just do it and be your best friend' mantra I have been trying to live by. I've taken myself out on dates, went on numerous day trips but I think it's time to move up a level. I've not been abroad for a few years and am itching to go ( if everything is ok next year)

I'm hoping to travel for a week, next July.

I'd love some peace and quiet, some sun and to feel safe.

Has anyone here done a solo trip that they would recommend/not recommend? Or, where would you go?

I'd appreciate your experiences in this

Fly to Athens, spend a day there and then go to one of the Saronic Islands nearby, Hydra, Aegina, Spetses.

Amazing scenery and service. The solo travel company ensured the right balance of having companionship for meals and optional trips but complete independence when preferred. Was like a Freshers week for the over 40s. Never laughed so much 😅

I have enjoyed many holidays on my own (but as part of a group) I used to just go with any travel company but it is rather nicer to go with a singles group as I was made very aware in other groups that a woman alone must be gagging for other peoples' husbands (absolutely not, but that is how the women behaved. It was just nice to all sit down for a meal together (though there are times when you can please yourself and go where you want to eat) without other women glaring at me!!

I have been to Egypt
Albania
Slovenia (love to go back - I love mountains and lakes)
Vietnam
Crete
and probably some other places that I cannot remember

I'd take a train to a Lake in Northern Italy or Slovenia or France ir Germany.
