Dd who is Just 9 wants a mid sleeper bed but just wondering if she’s a bit old to be getting one? Does anyone else’s child of a similar age or older have one?

We bought high sleeper for my 12 years old when he was 8. Still perfectly fine.

With a kid sleeper she won’t be able to do anything under the bed.. it will be too low.
My 8 year old has one from ikea the stuva with a desk underneath and it’s fabulous.

Is she worried about the height? There is a massive bar in the stuva to stop you falling out and if you have normal height ceilings there is still a big gap between sitting up and the ceiling.

Unless you need it for space, I wouldnt recommend it. My 11 yr old has one. It's a pain to change sheets on, and impossible to move to clean behind. He does use the space underneath as a cave to read in. It also has a desk attached, and a set of drawers, so really adds to the storage in his small room.

RedCatBlueCat, it was a great way to encourage my ds to change sheets by himself. It's hard for adults to get up high and change, but not so much for a child.
