Farrow and Ball Wallpaper

I've got F&B wallpaper going up tomorrow.

I thought I'd have a quick look around online to see what people say about it. I've found terrible reviews and now I'm so nervous. It's cost a bomb.

Anyone got any experiences of F&B paper? Is it really terrible? Is my house going to look like crap? Sad

I should have said, the paper isn't one of their metallic ones, a normal/traditional one.

We have F&B wallpaper and I love it. Only slight issue we had was that it was put up on a really hot day and we have a little bit of shrinkage, not on all of it just the odd couple of bits - even though it was overlapping, so just be aware of that.
I'm sure it'll look fab x

Tiredmummy2014 · 19/07/2020 11:37

I should add we didn't do it ourselves so wasn't a rookie error, no way were we attempting to put it up when it cost so much x

StuntPineAppleHead · 19/07/2020 11:40

I'm not putting it up myself! No fricking way!

Do you recommend overlapping it a bit, then?

Also, I'm worried about splotches of paste getting on the front. I've read the paper stains very easily and stains can't be removed. Have you found this?

We have F&B wallpaper. Make sure you buy the F&B wallpaper paste (it has to be the correct PH balance) and follow the instructions to the letter - ours looks fine and went up really well.

DappledOliveGroves · 19/07/2020 11:43

And make sure the room is not too hot, there's no direct sunlight and keep the room cool.

Bluntness100 · 19/07/2020 11:45

As long as you’ve an experienced decorator doing it don’t worry. I have some little greene stuff up that was a nightmare according to the decorator, took him twice as long as anticipated but he did a fantastic job.

StuntPineAppleHead · 19/07/2020 11:45

@DappledOliveGroves
Okay, thank you! So if the decorator uses F&B paste that should mean there's no problems if it gets on the front? We've got a smudge of paste on some other paper and I'm absolutely panicked about the same happening with this F&B paper

StuntPineAppleHead · 19/07/2020 11:47

@Bluntness100 F&B paper is painted on the front apparently which is what makes it so tricky. I'm so panicked. I should've just opted for a simple paint job.

So is the little greene stuff, and cost over a hundred quid a roll. As said though the decorator managed it but was stressed and hated every minute of it.

StuntPineAppleHead · 19/07/2020 11:53

@Bluntness100 Nightmare. I'm so worried. It was £125 per roll, £1250 for the whole room. I'm so worried it's going to look like shit Sad

We got some paste on the front and it wiped off with no issues at all.

Here's our wallpaper

Op if it’s a good decorator it will be fine, mine was.

Nicknacky · 19/07/2020 12:46

Can we see a link to what you have bought? I’m just nosy!

StuntPineAppleHead · 19/07/2020 13:49

It's this one.

With the F&B paste, will this be available at our local paint centre or do I need to order some online?

Looks great @DappledOliveGroves

Our decorator is good but he got some paste on the front of our wallpaper in another room so now I'm terrified this will happen to the F&B and ruin it Sad

Tiredmummy2014 · 19/07/2020 16:32

Yes definitely overlap it x

HotChoc10 · 19/07/2020 16:52

@dappledolivegroves love that with the dark cupboards!
