Currently living in the SE but have a chance to move to County Durham.
Dd3 is 11 and has been on the waiting list for ASD screening for 18 months. She is on the priority list but there are currently no appointments taking place due to Covid and Camhs have no idea when they can start again. They have told me they cannot do a telephone assessment for the screening - it needs to be face to face with her
She has just finished year 6 and is due to start secondary in September
I rang Camhs in County Durham but they could not give me any information about how long the waiting list is - just that we would have to be referred and start the whole process again. However the person I spoke to said sometimes children are seen within a week of them receiving the referral
At the moment I'm working from home and dealing with my DD who has been very affected by the Covid situation and is experiencing lots of MH issues as well. This is turn is affecting my MH
If we move I will be able to give up work and be her full time Carer.
DD is keen to move - we have just returned from a trip to the town we would live in. I also have family there but no support in the SE
So does anyone have any experience of getting a diagnosis and how long did it take ?
