Ideal new normal?

What would you like to see normal life to be like after corona virus has gone? I was having a few thoughts this evening:

I'd like people to keep 1m away from each other at all times. I mean between individuals and between groups, not between family and friends in a group! I do like space from strangers.

I'd like a crackdown on noise. Loud exhausts, unnecessary revving. people that shout when walking down the street, or in their gardens, All gone! And any music that can be heard further away from the immediately bordering properties - punishable by forfeit of your home. Heaven.

Less commuting and business travel. Such a waste of time and generator of pollution.

BUT I'd like to get back to the office 2 days a week (my commute is short, no vehicle needed).

lower house prices.

A government.....

UK being more self reliant - growing more food in particular.

People keep on with the daily walk / jog / cycle. I liked seeing the families out together. And the randomness of different types of folk jogging up the road has been great - a full spectrum!

People having time. Not rushing everywhere to do stuff constantly.

People gardening - a lot!

Seeing more nature.

Use of small local shops instead of the big trip to the supermarket. Even without the Covid queuing a big supermarket shop takes a lot longer than the tesco local 5 min dash.

I look forward to masks ceasing to be worn - I prefer to see people's faces.

I look forward to swimming pools being open.

So a few points, I'm sure there are many more. The noise one has really got me this week. Everything has suddenly got so noisy. Drunk people, shouty people in groups, cars, motorbikes, lorries, planes, music bass from far away. Perhaps I should move to the country!

No UK politicians are talking about quality of life at the moment, which seems a shame having been through a huge social change. What can we do better?

I'd like to see working from home being an option to more people, I've always hated commuting and I think we should keep the hand gel, it would also help with other bugs.

Every other part of this "new normal" I'll happily see the back of.

Yes to option for working from home.
My OH used to travel 5 hours a day for a one hour meeting, would get the train to London 2 times a week, from up north. Would fly to America 3 Times a year and have Monthly meetings around Europe. Each foreign trip meant about 30 people flying. The America trip was over 5000 people flying! Crazy!

I think you have said it all for me, op. I hope we remember the lessons this lockdown taught us. To value everyone in society ie I liked it when there seemed to be a sudden shift in attitudes towards who really are essential workers and that those who have often been paid the least were actually the ones keeping us all going. It might be just where I live/work but there has been a definite snob factor that I see/hear around me at times and it would be amazing if that could change.

Simple things in life like walking, gardening. I hope we remember the power of them.

Not much. I liked life how it was before and want to go back to it exactly how it was. All I can do is hope that it will eventually. I wouldn't like to WFH, I'm an extrovert and I hate being alone all day so I can't wait to get back in the office. I walk to work, it's 40 minutes each way and I enjoy the walk and getting the exercise.

A couple of things that I would like to see - more money invested in the NHS and pay rises for essential workers. Can't see that happening though. Also less foreign business travel when meetings can just be done online.

I'd like to start with getting the old normal back. There was stuff I didn't like, of course, but there's nothing much I like right now.

I want community sports, choirs, fêtes, theatres, work shops, courses, concerts etc. to reopen = my (my families) life back.

As I do not see shopping as a pastime and gardening requires a garden.
