What would you like to see normal life to be like after corona virus has gone? I was having a few thoughts this evening:
I'd like people to keep 1m away from each other at all times. I mean between individuals and between groups, not between family and friends in a group! I do like space from strangers.
I'd like a crackdown on noise. Loud exhausts, unnecessary revving. people that shout when walking down the street, or in their gardens, All gone! And any music that can be heard further away from the immediately bordering properties - punishable by forfeit of your home. Heaven.
Less commuting and business travel. Such a waste of time and generator of pollution.
BUT I'd like to get back to the office 2 days a week (my commute is short, no vehicle needed).
lower house prices.
A government.....
UK being more self reliant - growing more food in particular.
People keep on with the daily walk / jog / cycle. I liked seeing the families out together. And the randomness of different types of folk jogging up the road has been great - a full spectrum!
People having time. Not rushing everywhere to do stuff constantly.
People gardening - a lot!
Seeing more nature.
Use of small local shops instead of the big trip to the supermarket. Even without the Covid queuing a big supermarket shop takes a lot longer than the tesco local 5 min dash.
I look forward to masks ceasing to be worn - I prefer to see people's faces.
I look forward to swimming pools being open.
So a few points, I'm sure there are many more. The noise one has really got me this week. Everything has suddenly got so noisy. Drunk people, shouty people in groups, cars, motorbikes, lorries, planes, music bass from far away. Perhaps I should move to the country!
No UK politicians are talking about quality of life at the moment, which seems a shame having been through a huge social change. What can we do better?
