I couldn't find an existing thread so hoping others are interested. I saw it yesterday evening about 11.15 (SE England). I could see it with the naked eye quite high in the north west sky but spectacular through binoculars Smile. I couldn't be bothered to set our small telescope up but will have it ready tonight as it looks like it will be clear. Anyone else? ☄

How do I find out when/where to look?

I saw it tonight with the naked eye, DH then saw it through binoculars. This is a really helpful guide on how to locate it using the Plough as a starting point: www.skyatnightmagazine.com/advice/skills/how-to-see-comet-c-2020-f3-neowise/

Yes, we saw it. Here is DHs long exposure pic!

Yes, I saw it tonight and on Thursday night/Friday morning as I was cycling home. It was hanging over the nearby mountains like a Christmas star guiding me home.

This was last Thursday

Great pix! I saw it again last night but found it impossible to sight the telescope on it, maybe because it's relatively faint.

I saw it at 3am on the 12th and it was pretty spectacular just with the naked eye. Attempted to see it again a couple of nights ago but couldn't see it for the life of me! Glad I saw it when I did as it was beautiful.

MovinOnUp · 22/07/2020 00:06

I saw it on Saturday night, Highlands of Scotland.

Everythingmagnolia · 22/07/2020 00:08

I've seen it this evening over Wiltshire

Yumyumicedbuns · 22/07/2020 00:10

Saw it tonight, clear skies in Cornwall.

teaflake · 22/07/2020 02:52

Yes, saw it last night. Also looked at Jupiter and saw 4 moons.

penelopeplums · 22/07/2020 02:56

We set the telescope up yesterday to have a go with it in the middle of the night...first cloudy night in ages 🙄

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 22/07/2020 03:00

There’s a good few photographers over here in Canada who have taken great shots of Neowise and Aurora. I’ll see if I can find one.

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 22/07/2020 03:00

Trust NASA to have one, complete with Steve! www.nasa.gov/image-feature/goddard/2020/comet-neowise-seen-in-an-aurora-filled-sky

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 22/07/2020 03:02

This was the one I’d seen

I live in an area that's always cloudy when there's comets to be seen or shooting stars or anything interesting in the skies. We did manage to see a tiny bit of the Comet but it was so obscured by high clouds and was extremely fuzzy.

Marahute · 22/07/2020 07:06

@MooseBeTimeForSummer those photos are absolutely stunning. Put my rather fuzzy phone photos to shame.

1point21gigawatts · 22/07/2020 09:29

This is my pic from night of the 12th. The comet was much brighter then, we could even see it clearly from DD's bedroom. Went out last night and it was barely visible with the naked eye, but could see it through binoculars.
