Any optometrist opticians etc about re astigmatism

just wondering really... I've worn glasses since a teen and I've never really looked at my prescription until recently. It says CYL 9 on it which google told me means I have an astigmatism but google doesn't tell me how bad "9" is?

Is an astigmatism of 9 mild/mod/severe?

I presume it says -9.00 cyl? If so that is quite severe, I'm a dispensing optician and rarely see cyls that high! What is the rest of your prescription?

Is it plus or minus? What's the rest of your prescription? I've only ever seen a small handful of cyls that high. I'm really surprised your optom has never mentioned it.

My prescription isn't even that strong -1.75 and -2.75 .

I don't even know what I've done with the prescription now I'll look it out again.

It may have been the axis rather than the cyl! You would certainly be aware if you had -9.00 cyls !
