Friday curfew?

After having a bit of a fall out with my son over what time to be 'in' on a Friday evening. I'm just wondering what the consensus is for a reasonable time to be home on a fri for a 15 year old? He has just left school and so will be going to college in sept. I think 10:30 is a reasonable time, he thinks this is outrageously early.
He has actually been quite rude so for me that shows he lacks the maturity to be out later/ is gonna end up grounded if he carries on and also, what is there to do anyway?

Is he just roaming around outside? In that case, I'd be hoiking him in earlier than 10.30pm. 15 year olds shouldn't just be aimlessly wandering around in the dark really because it's asking for trouble.

At a friends house or doing something specific like cinema etc ? Then I'd be comfortable with later than 10.30 but on the understanding I collected him or I knew how he was getting back. Also how many times a week is this? Just a Friday night? That would have a bearing too

I never had a curfew and I never ripped that arse out of it because I knew I was trusted. At 15 I was allowed 11pm but that was at a friends house or the cinema etc. Not out roaming. Also if I was later as long as I phoned the house to let my mum and dad know it was fine.
