What is your 14 year old dd into?

Just really interested to hear about what other 14 year old girls get up to in their spare time and what they are interested in.

My 14 year old dd has suddenly developed an interest in make up and fashion, which is really odd, as she was really anti both things until recently! She is really good at doing make up actually! Spends too much time watching YouTube videos relating to make up and cooking. She is really into exercise (which is fortunate, given the amount of time she also spends on her phone) and a bit of cooking. She used to read a lot but less now (too much time on her phone!). Time with friends seems to involve eating, exercise and doing silly things with their phones. Sometimes she does a bit of art.

Emo bands, drawing and digital art, memes, sci fi and fantasy books and films. She's never worn make-up and is not interested in clothes except t-shirts with band logos or stuff from films/tv shows on them! Hates all forms of exercise and spends too much time on her phone.

I guess being glued to a phone is going to be a common theme! 😂

Swimming, piano playing and skate boarding. Meeting up with friends to hang around, take endless selfies and go out to eat. Making music videos. Art and calligraphy. Writing the odd article for the school magazine. Bit of 'proper' photography. Having friends stay overnight. And, of course, make up, clothes, painting her nails and straightening her hair!

I forgot to mention wasting time on her 'phone but surely that's a given at 14!

My dd is really into swimming and is really missing that at the moment.

Eye rolling, eating everything in the snack drawer and denying it, staying awake all night, moaning about school and collecting mugs in her bedroom!

When she isn't doing the above she likes painting her nails, shopping online, drawing, messaging her friends, watching Netflix, and customising clothes.

Grunge and emo music and clothing, 90s films, reading and has recently discovered decoupage so is currently covering a bedside table in what appears to be the floating heads of people like Kurt Cobain. She likes to practise skateboarding and enjoys Frostinos from Costa. She dyes her hair black but no makeup at all.
Only kid I know who has no interest in her phone at all and only uses it when she absolutely has to.

Agree with the glued to the phone comments from others Grin mine really likes anything crafty, at the moment it’s diamond painting.

Mine is into food, music (playing, not listening), art, "making stuff", Star Trek, and games (board games and computer games). She rarely checks her phone, or charges it even.
She's not into clothes, make up, hair in any way.
She is missing her friends very much, and is impatient for September to see them again.

Definitely glued to her phone but no interest at all in hair, make-up or clothes.........we went away last weekend and had to be reminded to even pack a hairbrush! Loves listening to music - Linkin Park, Avenged Sevenfold and Imagine Dragons are her favourites, reading and watching sci-fi and fantasy. Her main love though is playing football - I'm so grateful that we've just started back playing and there's a chance that competitive matches might start by the time she's back in school.
