Abnormal cervical screening result

Sorry - posted in women's health too but posting here for traffic.
I'm really worried.
I got the results of a smear back today and I have HPV, and high grade (severe) dyskaryosis.
I've been having some cramps and sex has been generally uncomfortable since I had my baby (7 months ago).
I had an emergency c section but got to 9cm dilated and had a number of quite intrusive things happen during my labour so I thought my body just needed time to heal.

Has anyone had a result like this and had a happy ending?

I can't stop thinking the worst.

Thank you

I had dyskariosis. They were unconcerned and left it for three years to see if it resolved on its own. It didn’t so I had a little outpatient op to slice off the dodgy bit of cervix. That was 20 years ago and every smear has been clear since.

Raimona thank you so much for your reply. That makes me feel a lot better! I hope the removal didn't hurt

@Raimona when is your colposcopy? I have had the same letter but with low grade- second time of it happening to me. First time two years ago, last years clear 🤔, then this year have to go in again.

Sending you a handhold.

I have been assured that generally cervical cells change very slowly, and this put my mind at rest somewhat.

Sorry- should have been to @worriedmamaa

I've just had my second abnormal smear test, had the colposcopy last time and all was fine then. The tests they do now are designed to catch anything early (so I've been told by my doctor) and it's still highly unlikely to be cancer, you might just need the abnormal cells removing. It's scary though!

Hello Smile I had this in 2017. Had a smear in April, came back with abnormal cells, colposcopy confirmed high grade CIN with HPV+. I had a LLETZ treatment in August 2017, and a follow up smear 6 months later which confirmed all had been caught with a normal result and no sign of the HPV. Was discharged back to GPs for regular smears so will be due my next in early 2021, but am currently pregnant and haven’t had any issues since the LLETZ.

Not going to lie, it was a worrying time - I was 28 and no kids and worried about what the result meant - but touch wood everything’s been fine since Smile

No I didn’t feel a thing. Apparently you only have nerve endings in the first couple of inches of the vagina - not in the cervix. They injected a local anaesthetic too. It was a bit sore afterwards but no big deal. The only concern was that my new shorter cervix might not be strong enough to stay closed during the heavier part of late pregnancy. So I had a scan whilst pregnant to measure the length of my cervix. If it had been too short they’d have put a stitch in it to keep it closed. The whole thing really hasn’t been a problem for me.

I am concerned about the length of the cervix too. Thought of a stitch goes right through me. Confused
