Anyone else desperate for peace and quiet?

I've had a banging headache all afternoon. DCs had a lovely time playing in the garden earlier, got a bit hysterical, fair enough. They played really noisily indoors whilst I cooked dinner as I thought the neighbours needed a break. Then I went upstairs and DH hyped them up even more on the trampoline. He then decided to clatter about rearranging kitchen cupboards. I asked him to be quiet, nicely. Noise continued, he spilt salt everywhere, Hoovered it up. Kids screeching, running in and out of the playroom and slamming the door. I put them into their rooms for 15 mins to try and calm them down. Now there's an issue with once of the taps, cue endless banging.

Just shush please! 😒

I love my children but hate the constant noise they make.i crave peace and quiet so badly.

I just want them all to sod off or go to sleep. Apparently there's a leak downstairs. FfS

We have resorted to sitting still in the calmest room whilst wearing ear defenders. It was a kind of hard core meditation.
It gets easier as they get older and you can shove them outside alone for a while.

I miss Ken Bruce. Putting the radio on in stereo as I pootle around the house.
No DH constantly on/ off the phone.
No sensory DS1 off school.
No homeschool.
No TV/ tech/ excitable child noise from any given point in the house.

Bless DS2, he'll entertain himself with anything, and he's very cute as he does intergalactic space battles with two crisps and DIY sound effects, but sometimes you just want to be in your own home, alone and quiet.

In our house today we had builders cutting steels with an angle grinder, the builders radio when the angle grinder was not operating, my son who has asd stimming which involves a loud screeching whilst listening to various utube videos on repeat and an 8 month old who is teething grizzling. I think I am going slightly crazy. Thank goodness all is finally quiet now everyone is asleep. Not looking forward to tomorrow.

That would push me over the edge!

All is quiet now but DH turned off the water so I can't have a shower in the morning 😭
