A couple of times now my 6 month old VW Polo has gone forwards when in reverse, and today it went backwards when I was trying to move off in 1st! I was nearly stranded but was able to move off in 2nd in the end... I am convinced it's not just me because my husband has had the same thing happen. We noticed that it's when the car is on a slight incline - it moves "downhill" (even when the slope is extremely slight). I will give VW a ring tomorrow but I reckon it will be one of those problems that's virtually impossible to solve, due to the intermittent nature of it. So before I do, does anyone have any experience of this or ideas of what it might be?
