Help! What is this pain?

I woke up at 3am with severe upper abdominal pain. Right below the ribcage in the middle. Coming in waves then receding. So bad it's making me cry out, double over, get on all fours etc (am not usually such a wuss). Paracetamol not touching it.

Have been sick once and have diarrhoea.
Feel clammy.

Don't know if I should ring 111.

Oh that sounds awful, please phone 111 and get assessed. I'm not sure what it is but it's not worth leaving to get worse, even if they don't find anything at least your mind will be put at ease.

phone 111

I had similar, although my pain presented in the back, not front. Mine was pneumonia. Hospital for 5 nights

You are doubling over in pain, call them

ChakaDakotaRegina · 16/07/2020 08:53

Yes call 111 - see what advice they can give.

I’ve no advice as to what it is but sounds bad!

That is exactly the right place for gallbladder pain.

The pain is awful. Used to make me sick too

ButterflyWitch · 16/07/2020 09:22

I've had similar when it was gallbladder pain. Excruciating but does pass. Have you any stronger painkillers you can take?

I have nothing stronger than ibuprofen and paracetamol unfortunately 🙁.

Just had the worst episode of pain yet followed by being massively sick 🤢. Actually think the vomiting has made me feel slightly better.

Am sweaty, shivery and knackered. Going to see if I can rest. Will ring 111 in an hour if no improvement.

Thanks all.
