Lighthearted - would you like to have to parent you as a teen?

Like I'm sure many of you, I am struggling with the ups and downs of parenting my challenging 15 yo dd at the moment. I said to her yesterday during yet another showdown how I hope her children are as challenging to parent as she sometimes is and how I'll be standing in the wings chucking to myself at the what goes around, cknes around karma of life! I was a good teen, according to my mum, never too much bother ( she obvs gets it from her dad!). I'd rather parent me as a teen than her... how about you?

Lol I went to boarding school so did all my worst behaviour there. Home was boring and I didn’t know anyone so nothing to get up to!

I’m kinda dreading DD’s teenage years, parenting her now is hard enough as it is

I was pretty good. Although if I was to parent me as a teen I think I would have been a better mum than my dm.

I DID parent me as a teen. I also pretty much fully educated myself from the age of 15 (chronic school refuser, graduated school with a 12% attendance rate. Did more or less the same through university too). I think that I would've thrived under my parenting.

Fuck no!!!! But I also wouldn’t ever parent my children the same way my parents did - drinking pints of top shelf spirits with coke at 13?? Nope. My dm used to say similar and now gives me wry smiles if either dc act up....irritating.

I was the teen sent from heaven.
Brought no trouble to the door.
Never in trouble at school.
Never back chatted my parents.
No smoking or dabbling with drugs alcohol.

I was a very very difficult baby though.
I screamed non stop and only slept for an hour a day. I honestly don’t know how my parents coped.
