Silver Sparkle and Mildred (DD is only 8 and into the Worst Witch at the moment)

flowerstar19 · 16/07/2020 06:56

Wow! Wish I hadn't clicked on this thread now since one of these is my name and I am in my 30s!

CakeRattleandRoll · 16/07/2020 07:00

DS (8): Abby and Harrison
DD (5): Siena and Russia (for a boy) (we have no connection whatsoever to Russia, so no idea where that came from!)

KingofDinobots · 16/07/2020 07:03

My 5 year old (who has been awake since 4.30, I am drinking a lot of coffee) days that he’s going to have 5 babies and they will all be boys, and will be named Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Tracker, Ryder and Mortimer. No idea where Mortimer is from.

oldmum22 · 16/07/2020 07:17

I love both those names . They are family names and the connections I make are with warm, happy ,caring women . (Not travellers by the way -wtf)

Save me from the Chardonnay ,Sauvignon, Pinot type names :-)

GisAFag · 16/07/2020 07:21

My DS watched Big Brother many years ago when there was a man called Eugene ne on there and he wanted to call his child Eugene.. Time will tell if he actually does

TennisButterfly · 16/07/2020 07:23

If you'd asked me what I was going to call my daughter when I was a teenager I'd have told you Angela. She is in fact called Isabella the same as 5 others in her class.
I kind of wish I'd gone with Angela.

HerkyBaby · 16/07/2020 07:24

Mine will apparently be called Dipper and Mable...

ASimpleLampoon · 16/07/2020 07:24

@flowerstar19 Are you Mildred?

TalbotAMan · 16/07/2020 07:25

Vera, Chuck and Dave

parrotonmyshoulder · 16/07/2020 07:26

My 10 year old has just named some pets. Amongst her lists of favourite names were Nicola, Caroline and Bridget.

parrotonmyshoulder · 16/07/2020 07:27

And Angela!

Louise0701 · 16/07/2020 07:34

Apparently mine from DD (7) are to be Violet, George & Penny

I’m impressed!

IndiaMay · 16/07/2020 07:38

Haha weirdly we have Bridget on our imaginary baby name list after a grandparent. We would call them Etta for short.

thesunisup · 16/07/2020 07:38

I've never actually asked the question but the standard response down to the years if I've ever said "when you have kids..." is "I'm never having kids".

At 17 he did recently say "the only reason to have a kid is to be able to call it Apollo"

Blueuggboots · 16/07/2020 07:47

My son likes the names Michael and Lexi.

IDontLikeZombies · 16/07/2020 07:52

When DS was 5 he came home from school and told me he'd have 3 children Max, Stephanie and Rocket Booster. Child 1 and Child 2 were named by his wife from the home corner, Child 3 was all his own work and a consession from said wife as he thought Max was ok but Stephanie was really silly name Grin

StillMedusa · 16/07/2020 07:53

My kids are a bit conventional I think.. DS1 has said for years that he will have boys called Noah and Isaac . DD1 wants an Alexander, DD2 has always wanted a girl called Arabella... however now she's old emough to reproduce the surname she has in mind doesn't go with it!

TBF I wanted my sons to be called Gabriel and Jesse... I'm glad dh vetoed Gabriel but I still say my DS1 would have made a fab Jesse (only he's now engaged to a Jess so that WOULD be a bit weird!)

SockYarn · 16/07/2020 07:55

My DD is the same age and is planning a whole tribe. At the moment she is having two boys and a girl, called Zack, Isaac and Tiffany. Hmm

She woudn't listen to the fact that Zac and Isaac are a bit samey. Zack Efron has a lot to answer for. God knows where Tiffany has come from.

Mamette · 16/07/2020 07:59

@GisAFag

My DS watched Big Brother many years ago when there was a man called Eugene ne on there and he wanted to call his child Eugene.. Time will tell if he actually does
My ex called his kid after himself Confused

He was also called after his own father and his sister was called after the mother. Bunch of complete weirdos, thank fuck we broke up!

I actually love Bridget, it’s due a comeback I’m sure. Deirdre not so much- there were several Deirdres in my year at school so it’s fairly humdrum to my ears.

EasilyDelighted · 16/07/2020 08:04

This has never come up in conversation in our family, in fact I never gave a moment's thought to future children's names until I became pregnant, and have never thought about it for grandchildren. However I wouldn't be at all surprised if Bridget and Deirdre came back.

Homebird8 · 16/07/2020 08:05

Well, any one fancy my DGC’s names, Obsidian and Sepentine?

SeagoingSexpot · 16/07/2020 08:06

I reckon those names will be brutally cool at just about the right time for your DD to have kids, OP; they're totally ripe for a retro revival. Grin

Littlemeadow123 · 16/07/2020 08:06

It is common of teenage girls to pick out random names for their future children. When I was 14, I had it all planned out. I was going to have six kids, four girls and two boys, the first one at twenty two. Names included Tobias, Amethyst, Tatiana, Delphina etc etc.

I'm now 26 and kids are O-U-T. At least for the next couple of years. And no way do I want six.

cheesesconesaremyfavourite · 16/07/2020 08:12

My son aged 5 told me that his friend's new baby sister was called Grimmer. When I saw the mum and baby it turned out she was called Abigail.
