Diggerland UK.... which one for 7 year old?

I’m trying to suss out which of the four UK locations would be best to visit with my 7 year old son. Any advice on which of the four is the best? He’s had a horrible year and would love to make a plan for him to look forward to. Whenever its safe (bloody 2022 most likely) I’d be flying over from Belfast. Should also mention I’m a single Mum and it’ll likely just be the two of us so also need a handy Travelodge or hotel a taxi ride away or maybe the option of car hire from an airport.

A part of me is considering Kent as I could fly to the nearest airport and maybe include a theme park?

Please help, well travelled and wise Mumsnetters!

If by Kent you mean the one at Medway the nearest theme park would be Chessington which would be a fairly straight forward drive . The Diggerland at Medway ( Rochester) is on a business park that has a Premier inn on the same site ( 5 minute walk) plus a cinema and choice of restaurants .

Thank you! Is it a fairly ‘good’ Diggerland, do you know? And I was thinking I might be able to get Chessington in too...

I went to the Kent one last year and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. But I’m not sure how it compares to the others.

We've been to the one in Kent a few times. It's great for 7 year olds - lots to do but all in a small space so there's not too much walking around.

It was great. Very non-corporate, well run and friendly staff.

I’m pretty sure they are basically all the same. If you really must, I would fly to the one closest to interesting stuff you also want to do. Because I’ve been several times and can’t imagine any are worth a flight for. Shock They are a nice day out that’s a push for us at a 1.5 hour drive. I definitely wouldn’t pay to stay overnight to go unless you were taking a trip to London or the seaside and thought it would make a nice extra day trip.
