Boris et al are being savaged for mandating masks in public places. All the right questions are being asked - why now, how long for, where is the science, what about people who can’t or won’t... the press is all over this, challenging the move (quite rightly IMO).

Last week Nicola Sturgeon was practically hailed as a saint for making the exact same decision.

How does that work?

You know exactly why. Boris isn’t seen as trustworthy and so his decisions will be questioned. NS doesn’t seem to suffer the same crisis of character.

I think if he was to just give the reasons why we should wear the masks now and why it wasn't made mandatory before now it would help.

Or has he already and I've missed this. I've not seen a lot of news the last week or so.

TheMurk · 15/07/2020 11:12

@nancybotwinbloom but NS did not give any of these reasons or reassurances either. WM has at least given a vague timescale (until next year) which NS did not (implication indefinitely).

At this point I would trust her over Boris as he has backed Dominic Cummings.

He gets the flak he does because to a lot of people he doesn't portray any
Good qualities.
