Where is my waist?

I know that having a waist over 30 puts you at risk of health problems, but I dobt know where my waist is.

I always went for the slimmest part, between my ribs and my hips but now I am told that's wrong and its the line of your belly button?

My hips - the absolute widest part of my body where my hip bones live is 37inches.

My belly button line is 34 inches - so well into the danger zone.

My area between hips and ribs is 28 inches so happily in the safe zone (if like I thought, thats my waist)

My under bust is 29 inches.

I have give the measurements either side to illustrate that I am not confusing those areas with the 'waist'.

My BMI is 22 but I have a high body fat % at 30% .... so am I at risk and should lose more weight or not at risk and should stay around where I am.

Maybe I have an abnormal belly button and my fat pouch has dragged it down?

Its all so confusing!

hello, I was told in a pre-diabetes prevention course that to measure the waist put two fingers above the belly button and put the tape measure resting on the top finger, if that makes sense.

Thank you, it seems such an obvious question but its really not. I will measure again at that point and see what's what!
