How hard can it BE to find a bloody new phone that meets my not-very-demanding list of requirements? ?

My S7 is on its way out (screen cracked, battery draining very fast).

I want the replacement to have the following...

Android (can't be doing with getting used to an iPhone)
IP68 rating (I have an autistic child. My phone needs to be waterproof!)
Screen under 6" as I have smallish hands
3.5mm headphone jack
Decent battery life (the bigger the better tbh)
Good camera (but not fussed about it being super duper amazing, just good will do)
Under £500 (buying outright as bad credit means I can't get a contract)

I don't care about much else! Wireless charging, power sharing, all that gubbins is just meh. Not bothered about anything other than the list above. Why is this seemingly impossible to all find in one phone? Any suggestions? I don't mind going with a relatively unknown or unpopular make btw.

I've had two hauwei phones and just recently got another on an upgrade to the p30. I'm really happy with them, no issues.

Camera is outstanding and it holds charge.

Try Blackview. Their top end are ostentatiously 'rugged' and the bottom end are cheap but do the job.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S might suit you, but maybe not the level of waterproofing you're looking for.

I have a Mi A3, love it, just what I need and not expensive.

I bought it on the Mi Store app, you can download from the Play store or mi.com/uk

I've recently bought a Samsung Galaxy A10. It's 6.2 inches. I've put a tempered glass screen protector on it with a shockproof case. Cameras 5mp & 13mp. Good battery life. Standard headphone jack. Retails around £130.
However, you can get a waterproof case for approx £80. Look at the Lifeproof Nuud (ip68 rating) which says compatible with Samsung phones.

Have you looked at the s9? It was the smallest that I could find.

Thanks, off to look up all of the above!

Just bought a Samsung a41, which is IP68 certified and has a few options for a rugged case (I'm looking at the otterbox) Currently on offer in quite a few places as well.

Its longer than I would ideally like, but narrow enough that its comfortable to hold.

Doesn't the headphone jack make it non waterproof? I have a Google pixel 2 and love it. Your can get a splitter so you can charge and listen at the same time.

@gigglingHyena I just got really excited about the A41 as it sounds perfect but Samsung have just told me on webchat that it is not IP68 rated, which is weird as loads of websites are saying it is 😭

Oh no, having read a few reviews before buying I'd assumed it was. Fortuately that was more of a bonus than a must for me. Even my minimal list of must have has taken me a while to find somethi g suitable though, why is phone shopping so hard.

Huawei p20? Not sure of upfront cost but I have it and it meets the other requirements I think....not sure about waterproof?

Blackview BV5900. I've just bought the slightly older BV5500 for my 11 year old in the hope that it will be fairly indestructible!
