Adult day dreams

I’ve recently notice that I day dream a lot! Mainly imagining Social situations and interactions. I have always done this to certain extent but it has happened more so since Lockdown when I’ve been working from home (I guess more comfortable and less easy to day dream when you’re being watched by co-workers).

I’m curious if other people do this or is just me?
I wondered if it’s liked to anxiety or social difficulties as I notice they’re generally about how I’d like social interactions to go, particularly with people I find it difficult to interact with.

Just curious to see what others think really?!

I thought from the title this was going to naughty Grin but yes, I daydream constantly. Either playing out situations in my head or I love a good old natter to myself as well!

I'm a daydreamer too. I also preplan my daydreams. So, for example, this evening I will have either a long bath or shower as I need to do hair washing/hair removal/face creams etc and will probably paint my toenails.

Before I start this, I plan my daydream. Which I then daydream about throughout.

It's like watching tv but I pick the plot.

Sorry to disappoint. I save those ones for actual bedtime dreams 😂

Always have day dreamed, always will! My husband used to say I lived in a dream world! But why wouldn’t you? Real life can be shit! Imagining a better world, a better life, where things go the way you want and you can write the script exactly how you’d like it to be. I also like to imagine that by day dreaming about events/conversations/situations etc I’m preparing for if (when?!) they come true...

I daydream about renovating/furnishing houses I'd like to buy. They have to be houses I know. It's my version of counting sheep.

I've been stuck on the kitchen of a relative's house in Greece for months!

I say dream all the time. I'm worse for it if I'm on the treadmill! Which can have its advantages as I switch off, day dream....and my run is over before I realise how far I've done!

I day dream about conversations with people I know, and haven't seen since the lock down. Sometimes I day dream about the rock ❤

I’m a day dreamer too!

Me too, I daydream plots to bits of stories I'm writing, or imagine I live in Harry Potter workd, or how I'd share out the money if we one the euromillions (I think having too much money would be stressful), or I coreograph dances in my head sometimes if I'm listening to classic fm.

I also have daydreams when I'm walking and I insert myself as a character into whatever book I'm reading at the time. I'm usually the "friendly neighbour".

I'm reading Michelle Obama's book at the moment - not sure how I'd shoehorn myself into that one Grin Although I did fantasize about meeting her though so I could tell her that Mary Tyler Moore was my hero too!
