Boob or bust

I've worn a 38E for years, but have lost a big of timber recently, so not being able to go for a fitting, thought I'd measure using B or B criteria...

34J apparently! WTF?! They're smaller, not 5 cup sizes bigger! Have ordered some bras to try, but does this sound right?

Are there any Boob or bust evangelists or is it bunkum?!

Boob or bust does work but the size may need tweaked to get the best size/style of bra to best for your shape of breasts. It's a good starting point and just adjust the cup size until you get the best fit. There is a common misconception that cup sizes stay the same no matter the size of band-they don't. I suspect you were also wearing the wrong size previously.

The important measurement is the band as this give you the majority of support. You also need to make sure you scoop or shimmy everything into the cup to get the best fit.

You aren’t measuring 5 cup sizes bigger. The cup is in relation to the band so a j on a 34 is not the same size as a j on a 38.
Boob or Bust works but that doesn’t mean you will find a perfect fit straight off. Different boob shapes suit different bra shapes. Join the Facebook page and have a read.
I was always fitted as a 34B in m&s. I’m actually a 28ff and have found that balconies are best for my shape.

Thanks all - @Crocky - that explains it really well. Will report back when my boulder holders arrive!

Before BorB I was a 32C... with BoB I was a 28 DD. Have added some timber and now a 30E.

You were clearly wearing the wrong size before

MrsWhites · 14/07/2020 12:03

Definitely works, I used to wear a 32C, boob or bust measures me as a 30F but I feel more comfortable in a 30D, one is bigger than the other so for me fit is definitely more important than measurement.

My sister is always saying ‘no way are you a D cup’ because the misconception is that all D cup breasts must be massive! It’s just not true!

Just measured 12 yo DD using Boob or Bust.

It's coming out as 28 F!!! I don't believe that can be correct, that's huge and her boobs don't look remotely that size Shock

BlingLoving · 19/08/2020 11:30

I keep meaning to try this but keep losing the bloody tape measure!!

The problem for me is having to then order bras online and send back repeatedly to get the right size. So tedious.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 19/08/2020 11:33

I measured myself according to their instructions and came out as 26D. They said it would have to be 28 because there aren’t any 26 bras.

I have lost a bit of weight and it’s a while, but I was measured in Rigby and Peller at 32E and a local independent shop at 30DD.

I think I’ll have to try again.

That sounds quite plausible for a 12 year old to have a 28 back. With a small back, it's putting the actual breast tissue into the cup.

I've traditionally worn a 32B- small by mainstream sizing. With recent bras, I've been trying to go down backs and up cups. I have managed to find a 28D which works well, my latest is a 30D. They hold the breast tissue up at the front whereas the similarly comfortable 32Bs flatten me around the back band. The actual capacity is fairly similar.

Having been a "34A" for many years before the 32B, I've always been at similar size in adulthood, it's the back that was too big at the cost of the cup.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/08/2020 12:33

F cups aren’t that big, you need to be G plus according to the girl at bravissimo before you are counted as big to them.
