Me either!

CormoranStrike · 14/07/2020 03:58

Rubbish isn’t it? I’ve got such a busy day ahead too, which is maybe why I cannot sleep!

I might give up and put the lights on soon

Ah, I've been up since 2.30 with such bad back pain (pregnancy), and DD2 will be awake in an hour and I'm working from home. dh is snoring away loudly... Wondering how best to smother him!

It's 7am and I haven't slept yet. This is every night. Practically every night. Occasionally I get a couple of hours around 1am.

This has been on going for many years. I also have RLS which is being treated. But the insomnia continues.

Nighttime is a nightmare. !!

CormoranStrike · 14/07/2020 06:58

Nightmare @LadyB49 - can I ask what RLS is?

Oh dear, I hope the day isn't too tough for anyone. DD is now in my bed with Bing on. I'd do ANYTHING for a few hours to myself as awful as that sounds.

I also had severe restless legs and insomnia, I was sleeping max an hour a night and felt delirious. It was horrible so you have my sympathy.

Some things which helped - weighted blanket to calm my nervous system, magnesium supplement but also magnesium spray for my legs at bedtime. Foam rolling as my restless legs made the muscles very tight. Lots of water and less caffeine. Soothing pillow spray and no technology for a couple hours in the evening. An eye mask too. It was like my body was in overdrive and I had to really calm it down.

All the best.

Frownette · 14/07/2020 07:26

Had breakfast and a vitamin pill, let's hope we make it through!

CormoranStrike · 14/07/2020 07:31

@inthethickofit19 I’m definitely trying no tech tonight

CormoranStrike and inthethickofit
RLS is restless legs syndrome which actually goes into arms and can appear anywhere.

I take magnesium and specific prescribe medications plus Kratom. I haven't tried the weighted blanket yet as there appear to be mixed reviews but may do. I'm a moderator on a Restless Legs Syndrome online discussion board and support group for 15 years.

CormoranStrike · 14/07/2020 08:31

That sounds so draining @LadyB49

@LadyB49 it's horrible. I only tend to suffer now when I'm overtired thankfully
