NHS worker, Covid and pregnant

Hi, I posted this on the Covid room but only got 1 answer so just trying here. I’m a hospital nurse and up until a couple of weeks ago all staff had to work from home from 28 weeks pregnant. Now we have been told we can continue to work on wards but just not to look after anyone known to have Covid. The RCOG guidance reads to me like I shouldn’t be patient facing from 28weeks. The hospital say they are following government guidance. I was just wondering if this is the same across all hospitals? Thanks

As far as I am aware, 28 weeks + should work from home.

Contact health at wellbeing for staff OP. I'm not front line or patient facing so was told that I was okay to carry on as normal once I reached 28 weeks by my boss who had checked everything out quite carefully. The trust reviewed the guidelines and sent out a questionnaire 5 weeks later and half hour after I filled it in (33 weeks) I was sent home on full pay... Ive been here ever since. Mat leave started Sunday, due today...

Thanks for the replies. I spoke to my line manager today and she said it was fine to stay working but couldn’t tell me what the change in the policy was based on.

It’s just making me nervous when it’s seems like other hospitals are doing things differently

This sounds really stressful. The RCOG guidance is still strongly worded to say that post 28 weeks you shouldn’t be patient facing and should be minimising all unnecessary social contact. I think you should take this further. It angers me so much how pregnant women working for the NHS are quietly getting on with much higher risks than, say, teachers/office workers.
