Hi

Just seen your post. I stayed in the Premier Inn last weekend. Was fine, however the restaurant next door wasn't open. Fortunately we were visiting a busy town and there were plenty of pubs, cafe and restaurant.
I confess I did take a bottle of disinfect and spray the room first.
Is there anything in particular you need to know OP?

Yetiyoga · 16/07/2020 11:59

That's fab to know, thank you for replying. Nothing in particular. Just haven't stayed anywhere other than a house for ages!
I opted out of the breakfast box as it was expensive for what it was and there is a big sainsbury s near by so I will buy some bits in.
I think I will take wipes too!

We stayed in a hotel last weekend for a night (not Travelodge but similar). Was fine - very quiet! They'd taken out any unnecessary items (so for example paper cups instead of proper ones, no loose toiletries etc). We did take some antibac wipes though and wiped over the surfaces and door handles etc.

I still feel very anxious staying in a hotel but reassuring to know they’re taking measures to prevent the spread. I might prefer an Airbnb then I can thoroughly clean the place.

This is probably worth a mention. Upon arrival at the Premier Travel inn the reception toilet was closed due to Covid. Guests were requested to use the toilet in your room. However, we had arrived at 11.30 and couldn't access our room until 2.00 pm.

I have put in a complaint to Premier Inn.

I have DS who was desperate for the toilet. We did find one. But if I had known I would have stopped on the way.

Thanks all!

@H1978 funnily enough i felt the opposite, i felt that chain hotels would probably be under stricter cleaning regimes!

@1Supersonic thanks for the info on that. I'm actually visiting relatives who are not comfortable having people stay in their house at the moment which I'm fine with. So I'll be heading to their garden before checking in. I can use their spare loo if needed.

Dh went on a motor bike trip and stayed in a premier inn in the West Country.
He said that the room was spotless and a few places were open in the town to get food. He had to give his name and details at book in. He has been back a week now and been
fine.
