Which TV series is this?

It's a new one I have seen advertised. It features an old (but not physically old) detective that has been reprised.. There is a child kidnapping and a religious figure (white woman in a religious type gown). Think it's set in America posibbly 30s/40s. I have seen it advertised and would like to watch it, but can't remember the name! Thanks for your help.

I'm not actually sure, but I think not American. It's not on terrestrial TV, so Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon.. Something like that, though may be on an obscure sky channel.

Has a dashing actor in it who was in something very popular previously.
