Best way to split bills with partner

DP has just moved into my house (I own it) as he’s sold his and doesn’t want to commit to buying another yet as we want to relocate In the next couple of years. He will be paying me a lump sum towards utilities and mortgage.

What is the best way to split costs like food? Is there an app or bill splitting website? Ideally we don’t want a full on joint bank account yet as dont want to be financially linked. Can I use Monzo or anything similar for this? Ideally we would both pay a set amount then be able to use this to buy food and household items. Any tips appreciated Smile

You can set up a "tab" on monzo and add anything that needs to be split on there. Youll call it "nicegems and DPs tab" or something and then if you do a big food shop, or pay a bill you can stick it on the tab to be split between you at the end of the week/month.

Alternatively, you can just split a payment between you both as you go along. It'll send a request to your DP and he can accept it and reimburse you.

You will both need a monzo account though.
