Wedding anniversary - tin?!

It’s our 10 year wedding anniversary next month. We have not had an easy time of things and it’s a big milestone for us. We can’t really do much to celebrate as we have no one to look after our twins, so I wanted to get DH a special gift. Had a look at the traditional item for 10th anniversary is tin - hardly very special! Or diamond jewellery, not really his cup of tea!

Does anyone have any suggestions? I want to do something to mark it.

Does he have any hobbies, like fishing, DIY or crafty something, where hed need a box.

A well made (tin) tool or tackle box with an engraving could be nice, if that's his thing?

Of if you want go move away from the tin, maybe 10 things for every year, including a personal, more long lasting gift as a final one?

Thanks so much for the suggestions, I’ll have a look.

I think I’ve officially run out of gift ideas at this point - we’ve been together through his 30th and 40th, and he’s really annoying for not wearing jewellery apart from his wedding ring, no watch etc. Very annoying. Would love to get something special but have no idea what.

Will get to creative googling 😂

My DH had his 50th this year and is not bothered for things. He's happy with a packet of his favourite sweets!! Wears a watch and his wedding ring only.

I got him a leather 'bracelet' with a personalised clasp. I had one engraved with 'life' and his birthday and the other with 'Love' and our wedding date, from not on the high street.

He absolutely loves it, to the point I actually need to replace it as he's damaged it from not taking it off!

Whatever you get, present it in a really nice tin box and add some everyday things, like his sweets, biscuits, razors, shower gel etc??

A friend of mine had a tin sundial made with a quote from one ot the readings at their wedding and the dates. It is set on a granite plinth. No idea how much or where from but it is nestled in a flower bed and looks great, and not at all twee.

Thanks so much for the ideas - really appreciate it. Will see what I can find.

I did something awesome for his 40th last year so I think I’m out of big ideas at least until his 50th 😂
