Coat for junior school boy?

I’m trying to get the school uniform shop sorted. Ds is going into year 3 and will need a decent winter coat in age 8-9. I can only find navy parkas, in previous years I’ve been able to find something with a bit of colour, (better visibility on dark mornings/evenings,) but these only seem to be available for “little” boys. I also don’t want Ds to feel infantilised I’d bright coats stop being a thing once you leave the infants. Where does mumsnet shop for these, please.

I always get my sons coats from Next, they tend to have some with colour

Try regatta or mountain warehouse. I work in KS2 and the majority of the coats are navy, black, grey or green.

You can get reflective badges and stuff to add to the coat. Like little keyrings for the zips. Then it doesn't matter what coat!

I also like bright gloves for this reason.

Trespass usually have some brightly coloured ones. Their 3 in 1 coats are great.

Decathlon do more colourful options. A ski jacket would be more colourful than a parka.

Definitely try the proper outdoor shops, they are always bright colours and will be properly waterproof.

Thanks everyone. Ds has gone for a bright red parka from Next. (I’ve not shopped in there for years!)

Be aware when they go into secondary there is often a requirement to wear only black or navy coats Angry Outdoor shops are a good idea then as they tend to have reflective piping on the coats.
