Are clothes recycling banks open?

I’ve had a massive clear out and have a huge amount of old clothes and books that I want to recycle. The last few times I’ve been to the supermarket the clothing banks have been closed. Does anyone know if they are reopening ? Or if anyone has any suggestions what to do with lots of books. I hate parting with them.

I don't think clothes banks are open, but some charities are taking donations in my area. Books I have just sent a load to musicmagpie, which was hard as I love my books but I just don't have the room now.

I saw a local cash for clothes place was open at weekend.

The clothing bins at your local tip should be open. Check your council website, ours is operating on an appointment only basis, but appears to be more or less operating as normal once you get there.

Books, I don't know. Our city has a Little Free Library system now, with dozens of little cabins where you can give or take books, but I don't know how widespread they are. But I thought charity shops were now open? Or if you live on a road with lots of people walking past, and the weather stays dry, you could put them out front to see if anyone takes any? Lots of people having been giving away toys, furniture, DVDs and books in our village by doing that.
