I’ve posted on litter tray but just in case anyone has any tips. She squeezed out of sliding doors earlier I think, while I was on the phone. So worried for her. I’ve put the litter tray and food out. Just won’t hear her if she cries as our room is upstairs on the other side of the house.

Any reassuring stories? I’m in bed with worried dd and my ds will be devastated.

Did you go out looking? Rattle a fork against a tin of food and call her name? Does she have dreamies? Rattling the bag always brought my cats home.

NC4Now · 12/07/2020 23:37

How old is your kitten? Mine has gone missing twice. Once when he was about 10 months, he went out at night and was nowhere to be seen. He came in when the sun came up.
The second time he was about one and he was gone for four days. I was beside myself. But he turned up at midnight, hungry and really clingy.
I slept downstairs in case he came home.
I don’t let him out in the evening now!

Honesttodog · 12/07/2020 23:37

I’ve been out calling in the garden. Nothing. I heard cats fighting earlier, not that far away, but she hasn’t come back.

Posted too soon - massive hand hold for you. I’m sure she knows where her home is. Is she neutered?

Honesttodog · 12/07/2020 23:40

She’s 9 months.

My boy cat disappeared the first time we let him out in our new house (had kept him in for 4 months) we spent hours calling and rattling tins. Nothing. He eventually sauntered back at 5am and proceeded to do the loudest miaow serenade I have ever heard demanding to be let in. He hasn’t shut his mouth since then Grin

LillianBland · 12/07/2020 23:43

I had a rescue cat do that once, so I slept on the sofa, with the door open. She came back at first light. Are you going to bed, or waiting downstairs. She might be hiding because she’s afraid in the dark.

NC4Now · 12/07/2020 23:44

Oh, I forgot about that. When Toby came back from his four day adventure his voice was all husky. He’s such a miaower it broke my heart!

Frownette · 12/07/2020 23:46

Beautiful cat. I'd also suggest sleeping downstairs tonight.

They have a miraculous habit of turning up again.

Smallsteps88 · 12/07/2020 23:47

When Toby came back from his four day adventure his voice was all husky.

Awww he’d made himself hoarse from crying because he was lost Sad did he get his normal voice back?

Honesttodog · 12/07/2020 23:49

Yes she eats a pouch at night so I’m sure she will get hungry and come back. I think I will sleep on the sofa too so I can hear her if she comes back. We get foxes sometimes so I don’t want to leave the door too wide open.

Don’t give up, get back out and call. (Apologise to neighbours tomorrow)

Don’t lose hope. I moved and went abroad 2 weeks later. Got home and my housemate said the cat got put and was missing for 2 weeks. I leafleated and finally got a call, found him and went and got him. Don’t give up.

xxKatie9806xx · 12/07/2020 23:55

We lost our cat when we had only had her 24hrs, she too escaped out of the patio doors (dh fault). I searched for her all day, found her, but because she barely knew me at that point (she was a rescue) - she practically mauled me when I tried to get her and she got away. She turned up by a phone call from the vets, who had scanned her chip, a month later. This was before Facebook community pages were a thing - as it turns out she was only a few roads away the whole time. Definitely get a picture out there on social media tomorrow if you can. Hope she turns up.

I'm so glad!! Clicked to give you a hand hold, it's the worst feeling! Extra cuddles and dreamies and no more sneaking out for her?!

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 13/07/2020 01:11

Amazing news! So happy for you SmileWine. How is she?

Honesttodog · 13/07/2020 01:21

Absolutely fine, she is walking around sniffing everything. She eaten and had a poo 😑 thrilled that she saved that for home

betteliefsen · 13/07/2020 01:23

Great news

NC4Now · 13/07/2020 02:48

Oh I’m so glad! You must feel so relieved. The first thing Toby did was use his tray. I thought ‘you’ve been out for days!!’
And don’t worry smallsteps88, he got his voice back, and some...!

Boomerwang · 13/07/2020 03:53

That's probably why they come back - they needed a crap and only their favourite tray will do :P

Glad for you, OP.

Smallsteps88 · 13/07/2020 10:34

Ahhh great news OP!! Such a relief. Was she at all apologetic?

Honesttodog · 14/07/2020 08:26

She continues to be regal and aloof 👑
