Klean kanteen

I'm tired of buying numerous water bottles and cups that start to leak/fall apart etc within a short space of time. I've decided to get DS something more robust.
I was looking at Klean Lantern and was surprised most of the children's bottles are not insulated, DS does seem to drink more when his water is cold but this could just be me projecting my love of freezing cold beverages.
Is it worth getting a non insulated one (wider range of designs, cheaper and come with sippy lids)? Do they keep drinks cool at all? Or should I get an insulated one and pay the extra for a separate sippy lid? DS is nearly 20 months.
DH and I use Chilly's bottles daily but we're asking for trouble giving DS something with a completely open top like that and they don't seem to do toddler lids. Or is there another brand that does it all? I'd prefer stainless steel, leak proof and with a toddler friendly lid, nice pattern/colours is a bonus.

Have you looked at Sigg water bottles? A little bit pricey but they last, come in great children's designs, don't leak and keep drinks cold. (Available on Amazon).

We have lots of klean kanteens here. Basic non insulated ones, bought 6 hrs ago and a little battered but still going strong. Used daily for school etc.

We also have a big insulated one, which is great. Plus some large insulated wide mouthed travel mug type things and a couple of insulated beakers with lids and straws, which are great for festivals and days out, on the water etc. Use for hot and cold drinks.

They can be pricey, but have really lasted and certainly do the job. Love the wide openings for ice cubes etc.

I might buy a couple of new sports caps for the water bottles as after 6yrs a couple have started leaking a tiny bit.

My boys have had them for a few years. The kids did start to leak slightly in their bags, but I replaced the lids with the slow flow ones from One Green Bottle and they’ve been fine for the past three or so years.

@Equimum oh that's interesting that you can use other lids. Do you know if one green bottle or Klean kanteen fit the chilly's bottles?
