Making the best of lockdown

Hi All

Name changed

But really keen to get thoughts/tips/have anyone join me?

Lockdown has been so hard. I have had a bereavement (non covid but harder to deal with because of covid), a very poor dc who low needs an operation, work has been crazy busy (appreciate any lucky to have kept my job).

Jump to now. Am not suggesting we are at the end of the pandemic. At all. But after months of wfh I am due to go back in October.

This weekend have had an epiphany. I want to make the lost of time I have left at home with kids as even though I hopefully will wfh again more going forward, I won’t have the time o have now with my dc again (I work ft).

So from tomorrow am embracing it. Plan to enjoy and not get stressed. Will plan for two hours a day kid time (can make this up at book ends of day).

Any other tips? Oh and I ams planning to be at healthier, take more exercise, and in general enjoy life a little more rather than succumb to stress like how I have spent lockdown

Less planning for a start!

Enjoying life tends to happen organically.

Lots of outdoor time, day trips, picnics, beach.

Personally I get up very early.

Exercise, do Some housework etc
And then days are much freer with the children as I’m relaxed because I’ve got Exercise and Jobs done

I find I have to plan because working ft (planning suits me better) agree though with more outdoor time!

I possibly have rose Timorese glasses because of weather but really hope will be able to make the most of time coming up

Is it just me feeling like this?

I am starting to feel like now that we are coming out of lockdown that it's a one off opportunity and I've not used it as fully as I could have. I hope it is a one off obviously but I'm already feeling stressed out at the thought of a commute and feeling obliged to take part in social events. I liked the breathing space lockdown gave me.

I definitely feel better if I'm up early and got some exercise and jobs done as a pp said.
