How clean is your house (really)?

I get so frustrated with myself about this! My house looks clean on the surface and is always very tidy. But look a little bit closer and it's filthy! I spend a couple of hours a week cleaning, but to be honest I am just rubbish at it especially bathrooms. I seem to just move the grime around rather than get rid of it. Is it just me feeling totally incapable of making my house sparkle? And does anyone have any tips? I would so love to afford a cleaner!

at the moment my house isnt as clean as it normally is due to having renovation work been done on it i have doors in the kitchen waiting to go in, tiles waiting to be put on the kitchen walls, manky flooring waiting to be replaced, and on tuesday an electrician will be pulling my floorboards up to rewire the front room then we will have to paint and decorate that and replace the 30 year old axminster carpet that is there at the moment , one day i will have a lovely nice house

With bathrooms I usually give it all a squirt and a wipe with a cloth but then a final squirt and finish wiping off with kitchen towel or loo roll. Gets everything sparkling!!

I just wipe away dust and muck as I see it and Hoover up and wipe the kitchen surfaces and dining table every day. I don't try to get my house sparkling because it'd be like trying to sweep up the sand on a beach and life is too short for all that shit.

Like alot of people, I work full time so like to be organised at the weekend so that I'm not cleaning too much during the evenings in the week apart from the usual kitchen tidy, bathrooms etc. I needed to clean my fridge this weekend and usually hand clean the trays, shelves etc but (and I have no idea why I have never thought of this before ) I put them all in the dishwasher , lovely and clean with minimal effort!. I don't know why I've always associated the dishwasher with , well, urm, dishes but turns out you can also wash make up brushes, hair brushes, and anything plastic, glass and the like that isn't a dish, cup, utensil, etc - who knew?! I don't mind being flamed for only just realising this at the grand old age of 48!

Mine is fairly clean and tidy and I've been decluttering... but only because we're desperate to sell and trying to keep it clean enough that we're viewing ready in an hour or two. Normally it's reasonably tidy at first glance but don't look in any corners or cupboards and there would normally be dust you could write in.

Is Fly Lady still a thing? It was an online thing helping to set routines and send motivational emails.

we usually have a good tidy&clean before having visitors. but obviously haven't had any for a while.

It's not as clean as I'd like it. Every time I clean it last about an hour before someone makes it dirty again. Toothpaste on the mirror, crumbs on the kitchen floor, cups in the sink, bloody dog hair every where, muddy foot prints in the hall way. It's literally non stop and a bit depressing. Every time I look at a skirting board it's dirty. Who even has time to clean skirting boards 😩😩

My house is really untidy rather than 'dirty'

We use a minky for services with a spray. One side scrubs and the other picks up the grime etc. It's great
