Minecraft books

I know, I know. There are so many books, can you recommend any? DS plays, but doesn't know the names of the things, he makes his own up. Watching him try to have a conversation about it with someone was painful. I also need to get him to practice reading. Something not too complicated (aimed at around 8 year old level?) and from which I can also learn the basics.

What about the Minecraft annuals from this and last year? Perfect for an 8 year old and reduced on Amazon.

How about the Blockopedia? It's expensive on Amazon but you can get it a lot cheaper on Ebay.

The makers of Minecraft have the official books which tell you everything from each mobs names, what different blocks do and how to use different effects. My 9yo twins have used them, they have lots of pictures but also short paragraphs to explain the game (it's how I learnt to play with them). You can get them on amazon.

There's these little hardback books, come as a series, Minecraft guide to... Exploring/farming/creative. They are the best imo. They're small enough to carry around, and there's enough pictures to help with the reading.

We've got ones very much like these official guides which my 7yo in particular has found very helpful.

Also he's had the minecraft magazine now and then.

You need the official Minecraft guide to ... books:

Guide to Survival / Ocean Survival / Creative / Exploration / the Nether & the End / Enchantments & Potions etc

As pp says they are illustrated with short paragraphs. My 9yo DS finds them very useful.

All on Amazon, also worth checking your local B&M - we picked up a couple for £2.99 each from there.
