Need stop over between Manchester and Tenby

We are travelling to Tenby next week for a caravan holiday. We would like to leave a day earlier and stay somewhere around an hour and half from Tenby. Any suggestions on where to stay would be very welcome.

I would drive the snowdonia route which has awesome scenery. And stay in Bala.

Thanks. Just had a look at Bala but it's still 3 half hours from Tenby. I want to do the majority of driving Sunday then only an hour or so Monday.

The mumbles area in Swansea?

Cardigan is about an hour or so. Poppit Sands is an ace beach. Any good?

If you go through Snowdonia, a stop around Cardigan or Newquay. Or you could go on the A483 and stop somewhere like Llandovery.

The Cammarch www.cammarch.com/en-GB/homepage is a lovely hotel with family rooms. We love stopping there on route, even if it’s just to eat and not stay, because it has a big garden, a children’s menu and children’s books and games.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Think we're going to head to Cardigan.
