Anyone know how to build e.g. a dressing table completely from scratch?

I have some tools but not all - would timber cutting services at DIY stores generally cut wood to size for me so all I'd need is glue, a drill, screws etc.?

Never done this kind of thing before so any help from someone who successfully has would be useful.

They would cut it to size but tbh with the type/size/thickness of wood you'd need it'd probably be cheaper to buy an argos/ikea job

I think it would be quite complicated to do, especially if you want drawers and a mirror. Much easier to buy one. Second hand would be cheap. I got mine from Dunelm.

You could take a shortcut and use 2 chests of drawers then span the full width (inc the "knee hole") with worktop.
Are you building one as you need a specific bespoke size?
As others have said, cheaper to buy and assemble one from Argos/Ikea, but good luck if you build your own.

Hi I build things for home, tables shelves seating etc. Normally i go on FB marketplace and search for free wood, pallets or other furniture going free that I can breakdown and use. Only have to buy the bits I cant find.
It's not as simple as put the top on the legs and screw in though as it will be wobbly and possibly not look great.
Search for simple joinery and table leg connection techniques on youtube.
Have a look at this
