How long after moving out of rented accommodation to wait to ask for deposit back?

I bought a house and moved out of my rented flat 2 weeks ago today and returned the keys on the same day. How long is normal to wait before getting the deposit back? I've not heard anything at all from my landlords (rented through a letting agency).

I think you have to apply to the DPS scheme that is holding your deposit to get it returned? You should have got a login when you gave the the landlord/agent the money, if you haven’t got the details they should have them.

yes, look at the deposit scheme concerned and find out what is going on. If they haven't given you info a) there are only 3 schemes to check and b) you can then sue their sorry arses.

Was check out booked, did you serve notice correctly and did the tenancy actually end on the day you moved out?

Thanks all, yes I've got the paperwork for the deposit scheme so I'll look into that. Yes I served a month's notice and moved out on the day the tenancy ended, I have emails from the letting agency.
