Wow, I am currently in a queue for NT tickets, been in a virtual queue for nearly an hour?! Is this normal?

It's normal at the moment. I managed to get some after queuing for about 10 minutes last week, but I went on at 6am.

I nearly two hours into queuing for a popular local attraction. Have not been since they reopened, as only ever seem to be able to get 4pm tickets!

Well I finally got in after an hour! Managed to get the day I wanted, there seemed plenty available so not sure why it took an hour.. Looking forward to my visit to Tyntesfield now! Hope you all get some tickets to where you want to visit. I've really missed going to National Trust properties the last few months Smile

I got some at 6.40 last week. Going on website early is the way to go. No queue at all. Worth getting up early for imo.

NamechangeOnceMore · 10/07/2020 13:25

Interestingly I got tickets for a popular local NT place without having to queue at all - applied for the tickets last Friday lunchtime, for a date this week. Maybe it helped that I wanted to visit on a weekday.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/07/2020 13:41

I tend to go on at about midnight when they're released. I was in a queue for about 15 minutes even at the time the other week.

We tend to alternate between the NT places near us and a wetlands place as we have memberships of both. The wetlands ones go on sale on a Wednesday morning at 9am though, so a bit better.

DomDoesWotHeWants · 10/07/2020 13:43

I was able to get in later. I think it may have been a technical issue.

theoracle11 · 17/07/2020 20:50

Anybody been since they've reopened? How was it?

maleficent53 · 17/07/2020 21:05

Depends where you go have visited a few. Some have quite constricted routes that you have to follow others very relaxed and a pleasant experience

NoWordForFluffy · 17/07/2020 21:52

Dunham Massey was really good. Speke Hall, on the other hand, was disappointing.

dudsville · 17/07/2020 21:53

Wow, i was in and out in seconds with exactly what i wanted (south east).

There was a thread about NT earlier and I said I’d had to wait in queues like this and I was basically told I was either a) making it up or b) I was doing it wrong. I’m sorry you had to queue like this too. It’s really frustrating. I found it worked better to keep refreshing rather than stay in the queue. I used my iPad to stay in the queue, but kept refreshing on my phone and I got through quicker by refreshing. I went to Dunham last weekend and thought it was ok, but loads of people were just climbing in over the style from the road outside and no one was there to stop them so sort of defeats the point limiting numbers. The gardens were still nice but I did feel like I was on a conveyor belt and had to keep going with the one way system - bit like being herded. We’re going to Speke tomorrow. The kids will be disappointed the maze and instruments are closed.
