Lock down achievements

Just want to say from the start this is a positive light hearted post, I am fully aware that this lockdown has affected people in different ways some good and some bad. It's also been different for every single person/family in terms of childcare/ working / wfh / being a key worker etc

Do you feel like you have achieved anything during this time? No matter how small? Anything that has been enjoyable?

I've been furloughed since 1st April so this has been a really long time for me. Dh has continued to work as normal throughout. One ds 9.

*Home schooling was a massive achievement for both me and ds. Wasn't easy. Some days better than others but we did it and made it to the summer holidays!

  • I've read 16 books all on my kindle. Two book series
  • I've completed 3 cross stitch kits. All quite small projects. 2 bookmarks and a bird in a teacup card.
  • I've added to both crochet blankets I'm working on.
  • Completed a Netflix series which is big thing for me as I seem to start one and never finish it.
  • With not wearing makeup everyday my skin is so nice again.
  • I've enjoyed not running around from work/school runs/clubs sometimes passing my husband as he heads out on night shift.
  • I've got the front garden weeded and looking nice with some bedding plants.

I'm sure there is more but that's what I can think of. Anyone else?

Read loads for me- probably 8 books since lockdown started.
Discovered I quite enjoy gardening
Ran 5k for the first time since having kids
Tried a few new recipes.
Nothing major but I definitely had a bit more time to do things I enjoy. I've still been going out to work and homeschooling but not rushing about for social events/commute being quieter and no school run and organising has freed up a bit of time. I'll miss this side of things when we go back to normal.

I have made it out of bed at some point every day. At times that's felt like and achievement.
We are still married, and still like each other.

Started running again and exercised nearly every day (this is big for me!

Never gave up on homeschooling - still doing it now - pleased I set up a routine that’s been stuck to.

Practiced keyboard and learned to read music and play with both hands much better, and now am thinking of buying a piano and carrying on teaching myself.
