Hi. As the title says..Is there a thread for letting off steam?, Coping mechanisms?

I'm a single parent of 2 primary aged children and sometimes I wonder if I still have any sanity, and when I will ever feel calmness again....

I dont know if there are any other threads but I can say with confidence that you are not alone. I am a lone parent and I have been struggling a great deal over lockdown. Its been so intense and the kids have been so demanding.

I have a partner, who is a lovely guy and is very good with my kids. I think sometimes it adds a pressure to my life, where people think that I am part of this child-raising team , but actually, its quite the opposite. I work extra hard to do things on my own so that my relationship is not about putting him into any sort of "dad" role. For my childrens' sake, and also my relationships' sake.I do things alone, I pay for things on my own rather than any expectation that he needs to chip in for kid stuff. Its tough, and its actually quite lonely. When I was a single , single parent, everyone knows you're doing it alone, there is no pretence. For a lone parent - aka in a relationship with someone who is not the parent of your child - you are doing it alone but no one gives you all of the credit. ( in my situation, anyway)

Thats my rant, thank you for creating a space for me to do so!

It is tough isn't it @ fat bottomed girl. Sounds like you have a different struggle in the mix..does your partner have a family too?
