I've just been reading about more job losses...

There are such mixed messages at the moment. I've just got back from town and think some shops could do a lot more to make people comfortable. Some are much better at it than others. Smiley greeters instead of door "bouncers", hands free sanitisers, plenty of tills open so you're not queuing for ages which the means less queuing outside, cleaning of door handles etc

The last thing I want to touch is a hand sanitiser pump that everybody is forced to use

Once you’ve touched the pump you use the gel in your hand sanitise your hands including the bit of skin that just touched it surely?

As above, touching the hand sanitiser pump is neither here nor there because you then use the actual sanitiser.

And you say plenty of tills open, but you know stores have had to cut down how many staff they can have on shift, right?

They need to social distance so there is a maximum number of people they can have in so it’s safe for everyone. It’s not just about the customer - you’ve got to think of spacing in staff areas, like break rooms, toilets, corridors etc. They can only have so many people on at once.
