Surrogacy and IVF

Hello, in 2013 i had a partial hysterectomy i had my womb removed with my ovaries left intact.
We have agreed on surrogacy and picked the Ukraine, we filled out all paperwork and got our tests completed all came back good... so fast forward I was told to start the pill for 14 days come off it for 5 days and get a Follicle scan so i would be told what dosage Gonal F I would be required to take, at the scan on my right Ovary one of the follicles was 2.6 cm in size when the consultant in Ukraine reviewed the scan she said i can't start IVF round we we're truly devastated as we we're due to travel to Ukraine later that week.
I was told I would have to start a different pill for 21 days and get scan again on the day I finish the pill, has anyone ever experienced the above if so did the follicles reduce in size ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thank you.

I didn’t want to read and run. I didn’t take pills when I did ivf, so a bit different from you as I started injections at day 5 of my cycle. Hopefully someone will come along with more insight than me. I know how disappointed you must feel that you didn’t get to start the process when you thought you would, but I hope you can see the positive side - they aren’t just out to get your money, they genuinely want you to have the best chance possible.

@rubylicious I am wondering how you got on with your Ukraine IVF/Surrogacy? I really hope it went well for you.

My wife and I are exploring surrogacy as an option having many failed IVF attempts. It would be good to learn from others experience but it seems that when you mention anything about Ukraine in any groups you get blasted by a few people who seem to think that individual bad actors and unforeseen covid issues mean that we aren't allowed to discuss it which creates quite an unpleasant atmosphere for people trying to get more information in an open minded way.

If you would be open to having a conversation that would be great, please PM me. If not then would you mind telling me which clinic you used and if you think they were 'good', as in were you successful, do you think the surrogate was treated well etc. Also any info on getting your baby back to the UK would be great because I think that is a part of the problem that needs some thought.

Thank you so much in advance.
