Head injury

Hi
I'm just wondering if anyone has head injury advice . Lost my balance and fell back and knocked myself out 3 days ago. Attended hospital but they didn't really say much just said concussion and to rest at home which I have been . I have an awful pain in the back of my head and left side but I don't want to go jack yet as it may settle - it was quite a big knock. Does anyone have any advice from a head injury how long I should be in pain before being seen again?

You'll probably feel rough for a while, and may also get post concussion syndrome. Did the hospital do what they did for me and just shove a bunch of pamphlets at you? Grin

Yes just gave me a letter and said call nhs direct if worried . The doctor didn't even check my eyes. I had a massive lump and was very dazed .

Mine was years ago, but there's a list of symptoms to keep an eye out for. Mostly all you can do is rest up I'm afraid. It's crap, it took weeks for me to feel 'better'. Flowers for you

When I had concussion they kept me in for about 4 hours and I had to pass certain 'tests'. I think you should go back

I've got the list , maybe I'll wait till Friday see how I am it's just like pressure at the back and I feel "fuzzy" but not confused and I can use my body just fine - apart from being stiff.

It's expected you'll have pain, headaches etc, especially if it was quite a knock! Just imagine it was another badly bruised part of your body, you would probably still expect pain after 3 days Smile
